Ottawa Public Health (OPH) provided a presentation today to the City View Rockers social group on the Covid-19 vaccine.

Key takeaways
Currently, only individuals who are 80+ in certain higher risk communities are eligible to receive the vaccine. City View residents are not eligible at the moment. We will update you with the necessary information when City View residents are eligible.
Once City View residents who are 80+ are eligible, OPH will contact you by phone or email. If they have not contacted you and you think that you are eligible, call OPH at 613-580-6744.
OPH will be using the year of your birth for age eligibility. You will need your OHIP card or proof of age and proof of address such as a driver’s license. If you don’t have proof of address, you can use a bill that is addressed to you.
A key point from the presentation is for residents to know that the first dose of the vaccine is about 50% effective and you will need to wait 1-2 weeks for it to be effective. The second dose will increase the effectiveness.
Thank you OPH for the presentation, to all who attended and to Anne from NROCRC who organized the information session.
