Transportation Master Plan

The City’s new draft Transportation Master Plan sets out the transportation facilities, services, and policies that the City will implement in the next 10 years – including sidewalks and bicycle routes.

The City recently extended the deadline for their online surveys and other engagement tools until the end of March. A new date for an Open House session has not yet been scheduled.

Click here for more information and to access the surveys.

We encourage you to make comments, as this will be our last opportunity to request sidewalks and ‘missing links’ in our community. The City bases their decisions on the number of comments/requests it receives – so it is important that you speak up.

Some suggestions of missing links that should be requested include :

  • sidewalks along Rowley and Sullivan north so that our children can safely walk to our local schools, (Meadowlands P.S., St. Gregory P.S.), pool and tennis courts in Crestview
  • extension of the Cordova sidewalk to join with the proposed Withrow sidewalk
  • sidewalks along Bassano and Pender to provide pedestrian access to the proposed Baseline Rapid Transit stops
  • the completion of the pathway behind the Merivale commercial properties (between Meadowlands and Baseline Road} as noted in the Merivale Road Secondary Plan
  • a multi-use pathway along the hydro corridor on Bassano Road, and
  • all-season walkways/bikeways to link our community to Algonquin College, College Square and the Baseline LRT station.
